Treating adult acne
from: MultiSkinCare.comA lot of the time, people think that only teenagers get acne. Yet that is just not true. A lot of adults still suffer from burnout and wonder why. The truth is, acne doesn't discriminate. Some of the same reasons you got acne as a teen are still around and can still affect you as an adult. Here are some things you can do to treat your acne if you are noticing you still have acne into your adult years.
1. Change your diet. You already know that you should be eating in a healthy way. It is probably not a surprise that the first thing you see here is to change your diet, but it's important that you heed that advice. Food is to the body as fuel is to your vehicle. If you put bad fuel in your car, it will not run well. If you eat food that is unhealthy and full of sugar and fat, your face is not going to look as clear as it might.
2. Reduce stress in your life. As an adult, that doesn't always seem possible, because you have more stress in your life than you used to. Acne is a result of that stress. You need to learn to calm down and start doing stress reducing activities to make sure that your life calms down and your skin follows.
4. Wash your face frequently. If you aren't washing your face as often as it needs to be cleaned, you will discover that your skin isn't as clear as it should be. You should also think about what kind of cleanser you are using to wash your face. Scented bar soap is not the best choice for your face cleanser; choose something natural that is hypo-allergenic.
4. Realize that your hormones may be causing some of the breakouts. This is especially true for ovulating women. You may find that your skin breaks out right before your period. There is not much you can do about this, but if you follow the other tips in this article, you may have less of a problem to deal with.
5. Don't touch your face so much. Many people touch their faces aimlessly throughout the day. In fact, you may not notice you touch your face at all! However, keep in mind that your hands touch so many things during the day, that whatever they are touching is touching your face. That can lead to bacterial growth that causes acne.
7. Exercise to clear your skin. Makeup and other things can cause pores to clog, and exercise is a great way to prompt sweating, which prompts unclogging of pores. Exercise also stimulates blood circulation, which can lead to delivery of oxygen and other nutrients to your skin cells, which is good for your skin.
8. Wash your pillowcases and bedding often. These items can spread bacteria to your face and skin all night as you sleep; make sure you launder them as often as possible to make sure that you are sleeping on clean linens that won't contribute to your acne.
Let these tips be a short guide to helping you rid yourself of acne. You're an adult now, so you will probably be more likely to follow these tips; that will likely mean your face will clear up much sooner than it did when you were a teen!
