Something that most people do not do is use a fresh clean towel everyday. For many people this is not necessary, but if you are having problems with acne it is a good idea to use a fresh towel whenever possible. Re-using such a towel would increase your risk of more acne breakouts because you would be adding oil to your skin and block the pores with dead skin pieces.
Another way to prevent further acne breakouts is to change your clothes as often as you can. For instance, if you plan to exercise you should change into something different or plan on changing into new clothes afterward. If is important to not keep clothes on that are sweaty because the secreted oils can then clog your pores. You should also change your clothes every time that you shower and before you go to bed. Wearing only clean clothing will make a huge difference towards preventing acne breakouts.
Shower as often as you can. It is important to shower after exercise, but any time that you can get a shower in you should, up to 3 times per day, depending on your physical activity level. Keeping your skin clean will remove all excess oils from your skin, prevent infections that lead to blemishes and will also remove skin debris that could lead to clogged pores. It is also a good idea to use a loofah while showering to scrub away dead skin that is hard to remove with just water.
A very bad habit to have if you suffer from acne is touching your face. Your hands are full of germs and oils. When you touch your face you are transferring everything else that you have touched to your face. The oils and germs on your hands are far too harsh for your sensitive face, and very often is a huge culprit in the fight against acne. If this is a habit you have you will have to work very hard to break it. One tip is wearing rubber gloves at home, which will help you to notice when you are about to touch your face. If you stick with trying to break this habit it should only take about three weeks. After that it will become habit to not touch your face.
