Is acne ruining your life? Take action and start using these helpful tips to clear up your complexion and boost your self-confidence. A few simple changes could make a huge difference!

Do you have a skin care routine? You need a simple but efficient routine to keep your face clean and avoid breakout. Keeping your skin clean is essential: buy a soap with a neutral PH and use it to wash your face twice a day. Use a moisturizer if your skin is dry, but stay away from these products if you have an oily skin. Soap and moisturizer are the only things that should ever go on your skin. Makeup is not a good idea: it will clog up your pores and cause more breakouts.

Clean your pores a couple of times a week. You can do this by washing your face with hot water to open your pores and applying a mask. Use honey or an organic face peel mask. A mask will soften and clean your skin while killing bacterias and absorbing the extra oil. You can also exfoliate your skin regularly if you tend to have blackheads and clogged pores: you can either use an organic exfoliating product or sugar. Do not exfoliate more than twice a week or you might irritate your skin.

Avoid toxins and unhealthy foods. This means you should quit smoking, drinking coffee and sodas and expose your skin to fresh air as much as possible. Working out is a good way to eliminate toxins from your system through sweat. Replace unhealthy foods with fruits, vegetables and lean meat. You would not believe the transformation your complexion will go through once you give up fast food and processed foods. Eating a healthy diet can be hard, but give it your best. Take multivitamin supplements if you need to; look for supplements containing Vitamin A, zinc and chromium.

Keep everything that might touch your face as clean as possible. Wash your hands and avoid touching your face throughout the day. Do not let your hair touch your skin: the oil or products in your hair might clog your pores. Wash your pillowcase and your towels every day if you can. Do everything you can to avoid spreading bacteria and oil on your belongings and your skin. And remember that you can transmit these bacterias to other people; do not share your pillowcase with anyone.

If you have an excellent hygiene and a healthy diet and still have acne, you should go to a dermatologist. Your acne might be caused by stress, hormonal unbalances or allergic reactions. You might be able to take a medication to prevent breakouts or avoid the products you are allergic to if your acne is caused by allergies. After adopting new habits, give yourself a few weeks and go to a professional if you are not seeing any results at all.

Keep in mind that getting rid of your acne and changing your habits can take some time. Your efforts will be rewarded with a much better complexion.
